so, who am i?

I’m an Instructional Designer with a knack for e-learning creation, human-centered design, and relationship building.

But how did I get here? Picture this: I’ve just graduated from Iowa State University and have started working full-time in a Human Resources role. I was soon given the opportunity to work on a Learning & Development project. Naturally, as someone with a degree in Secondary Education, I thought that my understanding of learners in a classroom setting would perfectly translate to learners in a corporate setting.

I couldn’t have been more wrong.

I quickly found that large swaths of Corporate America had become jaded to Learning & Development in the workplace because it had failed to meet their needs.

I want to change that.

By fusing proven educational theory, human-centered design, and eye-catching visuals; we can make creative learning experiences that drive results and create behavior change.

Though not an all inclusive list, these are some of the thoughts that get me out of bed each morning.

  • Falling in love with the goals you set for yourself is a guaranteed path to failure. Goals are most successful when you become less committed to the outcome and more committed to the pursuit.

  • In today’s world, it’s more important than ever to embrace opportunities to practice empathy and understanding. Doing so is essential for building trust, respect, and collaboration in any setting.

  • As a self-described “jack of all trades,” I am no stranger to new hobbies, side-quests, and interests. In the process, I have learned a lot about trial and error. What I’ve discovered is that consistently showing up with your best effort leads to long-term results.
